Folk Culture
District Thane and adjoining region is blessed with very rich ecology which reflects through the diverse folk cultures. Yet traditions, fairs- festivals, art forms, and folklore are vanishing rapidly. We are trying to document and preserve those by different ways. We also conduct ethnographic tours for researchers, enthusiasts, and tourists. These tours can provide an immersive experience that allows participants to learn about and appreciate the local culture firsthand. Ashwamedh collaborate with educational institutions to integrate the study of local culture, ecology, and traditions into the curriculum. This can help in nurturing an interest among the younger generation.
Documentation and archiving include written records, photographs, videos, and audio recordings. This information is stored for further research and will be available for students, researchers, and government bodies as well. As a part of educational activities, we organize workshops and training sessions to teach traditional art forms, crafts, and skills which could help in reviving these fading art forms. Along with them, cultural festivals and events that showcase the local traditions, art forms, and folklore are arranged to not only raise awareness but also provide a platform for local artists and performers to showcase their talents. Besides artists, we collaborate with historians, anthropologists, ecologists, and other experts who can provide guidance on preserving and presenting the cultural and ecological heritage accurately.
We share information, stories, photos, and videos related to the culture and ecology of the region through social media and other digital platforms. To reach a wider audience and raise awareness about our efforts. Ashwamedh Pratishthan works to not only safeguard the rich cultural and ecological heritage of the region but also to create a stronger sense of identity and pride among the local communities.
